Left Brain/Right Brain
I’m a writer and content marketer with a strong background in print journalism and marketing. I currently serve as the marketing director at eContext in Chicago.
A Midwesterner at heart, I grew up in Cleveland, which helped me develop a curiosity about everything from technology and manufacturing to food and travel. As a young writer in Cleveland, I had the opportunity to use both sides of my brain, helping manufacturers craft their speeches for IndustryWeek magazine live events, overseeing the travel content for publications like Ohio Magazine and LongWeekends (which I founded), and contributing food, travel, and humor articles to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
In 2007, I moved to Chicago to re-focus my career on web-based publishing and content marketing, working for companies like HowStuffWorks, Motorola Solutions, and Info.com. But it turns out, whatever you're writing about and wherever you publish it, the heart of any compelling bit of content is the story behind it.
For fun these days, I do live storytelling. You might see me some night at This Much is True, the Moth (pictured, right - photo by Mac MacDevitt), or Story Jam. Want to host a live storytelling event for your team? I'm happy to coordinate it - give me a call.
